Meet Alaina
Owner and licensed esthetician circa 2020
I am a two-time beauty school dropout, college failure, phlebotomist, customer service professional and waitress-turned-skincare expert. But in 2019 after wearing many hats, I decided to take a chance on esthetics school. It felt like I had finally found a career I could pour my heart and soul into.
My first jobs right out of school were working in the corporate chain-spa world, which allowed me to hone my skills, continue my education, and build a loyal clientele, but it also trapped me in a box that I couldn’t break out of. I knew I wanted to practice differently- no more upselling, no more rushed appointment times, and no more spa music.
With basically nothing but passion and a dream in my pocket, I set out to craft a space that welcomed women and the queer community and invited them to show up just as they are: whether they have a 12 step skincare routine or are lucky to splash some water on their face after the kids go to sleep. Enter Arcane Glow Esthetics in 2024.
Now I spend my days crafting custom skin services for the beautiful souls that enter my space, and regularly falling down research rabbit holes on anything related to skin. When I’m not in the treatment room you can usually find me attempting to entertain my two cats, lifting heavy things in the gym, wandering around the woods, reading, or watching the newest horror movie.
